Learn to Swim
Learn to love the water while being taught the foundations of swimming and water safety.
Program overview
The Swim Academy Network offers a comprehensive learn-to-swim program that caters for all ages and abilities - from pre-schoolers through to technical correction for advanced adult swimmers. We take a personalised approach to each swimmer’s lesson by offering a differentiated learn-to-swim curriculum that is dependant on the needs of the individual swimmer.
Program details
We offer several types of Learn to Swim programs, including:
Adult lessons
Our adult swimming programs cater to all levels of ability. Whether you have little to no experience or compete regularly in triathlons, masters events or ocean swims you’ll be able to join a class with that matches your skill level. Our teachers will work with swimmers to develop drills and programs that will help you achieve your goals.
Private lessons
We offer private lessons at all our facilities for those wanting individual attention.
Swimmers with disability lessons
We offer a specialised learn to swim and squad program for swimmers with a disability. Teachers work with parents and swimmers to develop an appropriate learning environment that allows for technical improvement across all four stroke and other aquatic skills.
Class are available as learn to swim group classes, squad classes and private lessons.

Small class sizes
We believe that continual feedback is crucial to a swimmer’s development. Our small class sizes ensure each student is given ample attention and advice from their teacher.
Competition pathway
We want to give all the swimmers in our program the confidence and skills to one day compete in our wonderful sport. We offer all school age swimmers the opportunity to race in fun and supportive carnivals.
Swimmer Recognition
Our certificate system and app ensures that every swimmer’s achievement is celebrated.
Technique based curriculum and framework
The curriculum has been developed by company director Sebastian Bettiol, a secondary school teacher who has had experience in school leadership and curriculum development. The curriculum is based on the principle that each stroke has many individual skills and components, each of which must be individually taught and evaluated.
Emphasis on fun
We understand that for many looking at the bottom of the pool can be boring. As a result, we place a great importance on our swimmers having fun in their lessons.
Teachers with Swimming Experience
Unlike most swim schools, the majority of our teachers are experienced swimmers themselves. You never know, your teacher may even be a national champion.

The best thing that I like in SAN is that all the coaches treat everyone fairly and are very helpful. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming.
